Four Ways Christian Girls Can Boost Confidence and Self-Perception

Christian girls have low days too! Days where they feel lost, low motivation, and no confidence at all. On such days, they even forget that they have a loving and supportive Heavenly Father who says that we should cast all our cares on Him.

Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭55‬:‭22‬ ‭NKJV

Yes! There are days like that! Contrary to popular belief, that you are a Christian girl does not suddenly make you numb to all the stress, anxiety, and challenges of life. It is that, in spite of these challenges, we chose to trust God and embrace joy in the end. However, it does not mean that there are not days where pitiful questions like, “am I good enough”, “what is wrong with me “ or “am I going to be ever worthy of love” pop up in our heads. Consequently ruining every part of our day or days. Yes, it happens.

Nevertheless, what sets us apart from others is that we are aware that the devil is constantly waging war against our mind.
Hence, we take the necessary actions to remind ourselves of God’s unfailing love and grace and ensure that the devil does not succeed in pervading our mind with his lies and deceits.

On days where we do not feel beautiful, cared for, or even worthy of God’s love, here are practical ways to remind ourselves of whose image we are in, who we are in Christ and ultimately shut the devil out for good:

  1. Read Genesis 1:27, 1st Peter 3:3-5, Proverbs 31:30, and Psalms 139:30: There is nothing more I love about God than His intentionality. Is it not beautiful how God strategically put wisdom nuggets in His word to cater to every thinkable situation facing man? It is indeed awesome! This means that even for the girl feeling unloved or frustrated, there are Scriptures to address such needs. Just pick up your Bible, open to the verses listed above, and read. In a couple of minutes, you will realize that you are God’s favorite and whatever silly thoughts you have about yourself and the future are just lies from the devil.

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

  1. Write 10 things you love about yourself: Sometimes, it is unbelievable that something as simple as writing positive things about oneself can have such profound impact on one’s confidence. But it works! Taking out time to write a list of things you like about yourself is the first step in sitting down with your feelings and understanding them. Also, it is a great way to reaffirm yourself of your value and worth to God.
  1. Pamper yourself: Thinking unkindly about yourself or caught up in a web of negative thoughts? Getting a pedicure or a spa massage works wonders in helping you feel better about the circumstance. It does not have to be even pricey or a lot. Taking out time to pamper yourself is one way to remind yourself that God created all the pleasant and wonderful things you enjoy. In other words, your comfort and happiness are His priority.
  1. Hang around your loved ones: Nothing assures you of how much you are loved and cared for than by the love of the people you care for and love too. Being around your loved ones is the perfect cure for self pity and low confidence. Here, the love emanating from them symbolizes how cherished and loved you are by God. It is also a reminder to love and cherish yourself as much as they (loved ones) do.

It is okay for Christian girls and people in general not to feel their best always. Still, there are countless cheat codes on how to not let your self-worth, self-esteem, and confidence suffer in the process. Stick to the tips listed above and turn the bad day to a great one.
