Dear Christian Blogger,
I hope you are not mad that my Happy New Year message is coming this late. If you are, I am so sorry but overall, I am wishing all of you a happy new year and trusting that, in this year, God crowns all that He has started in our lives.
With my apologies given and hopefully accepted, let us move on to the agenda of the day.
Recently, I came across this quote by Henri Matisse where he quipped that “creativity takes courage”. Wow!! As a blogger /creative, this has to be my game changer. Because prior to this quote, the whole creative process had begun to feel like a huge weight that I carried around and could do nothing about. Do not get me wrong. I love creating. I love sharing my art, faith, stories through writing and directing. However, with creativity, it is not always easy and fun. There are some times when creativity gets so challenging that it begins to feel burdensome and frustrating.
Started the year feeling your best creative self and you want to keep it that way? Want to explore more creative blogging areas this year but not sure how to start? Dear Christian blogger, below are three cheat codes to enhance creativity in 2025:
- Creativity is also about resting and restoring energy: Sometimes, the most productive thing a creative /artist can do is rest and restore energy. It is a fact that consistency implies showing up everyday. But it is also beneficial to know when to pause and re-energize. Learning to pause and refresh is also an important aspect of consistency no one talks about. In 2025, do yourself a lot of good by resting and refocusing when necessary, and enjoy an unlimited flow of creativity.
- Learn to break routine: When one is so used to a particular routine, it can be difficult to try something different. It applies to creatives too. It is not always the easiest to break an existing creative pattern or routine. Nevertheless, it is important, especially during a creative emergency. Bearing in mind that these creative emergencies can just be the needed step to maximize your creative potential. So, some creative goals every creative person should strive for in the new year would include learning to break routine, trying something different, and utilizing your creativity to its fullest.
- Your authenticity is your currency: As a creator, it is so easy to get stuck in the web of creating what people want to create versus being your authentic self. But note that when it comes to creativity, your authenticity is your invaluable currency. It is what sets you apart from the rest. It is also a catalyst for forging genuine connections and fostering trust in both personal and professional relationships. Therefore, in 2025, start your creative journey by embracing your authenticity, refuse to compare yourself with others, and the sky will be your starting point.
Elizabeth Gilbert opines that “a creative life is an amplified life. It is a bigger life, a happier life, an expanded life, and a hell of a lot more interesting life.” Do well to live an amplified life by your creative writing. Create top-tier Christian content as God would have you and watch you take territories for Him with the unique creative ability He has placed in your hands.
A friend,
Assumpta
