‘When are you getting married?’
For a woman in her late 20s and early 30s, marriage is one of the most-talked-about topics for her.
The famous question, ‘when are you getting married?’ begins to ring a bell in her ears over and over again. Almost everybody tends to ask this question without filters!
Strangers, family, friends, neighbours, co-workers, etc. start to find your naked finger surprising. They begin to ask, “When are you getting married?”
If you get this question a lot, you may be wondering how best to answer such questions.
Here are some ways you can answer the question when are you getting married:
I don’t know
This might be obvious but most people try to avoid this as an answer. If you don’t know when you are getting married, you simply don’t know and it is an honest way of responding to the question.
We are still getting to know each other
If you just met your spouse or if you both have just started dating, this might be the perfect response!
When he proposes
Again, this might be another obvious response but it is simply the truth. When he proposes, then you start planning to get married!
I’d rather not talk about that now
Sometimes you just don’t want to talk about such things and it is best to politely tell the other person.
You will know when I am getting married
This is another way of telling the other person that when the right time comes he or she will know or be informed.
Ask him
Truth be told, your spouse (man) would be the one that will propose to you. And so, if your friends come to ask you when you will be getting married, this is a playful way of telling them to ask him instead and not you.
We are not ready
If you are not ready, you are simply not ready, and it is best to clear the air on that.
It is important to note that not everyone who asks you ‘when are you getting married?’ is actually nosy, some may be genuinely interested in your advancement or moving forward in life, and so it is important to recognize these people and appreciate them.
For the nosy ones, don’t allow them to get to you.
Remember, the right time will come and you will be married to the person God intended for you!
