Google Celebrates 17th Birthday
Google celebrated its 17th birthday on the 27th of September. Google launched its first domain in 1997 and kick started officially in 1998.
The company which started with its server being held by toy building blocks had its first office in Larry and Sergey’s Standford dorm rooms but has since become a renowned technological force.
On Google’s homepage to celebrate its birthday was a logo with a plastic personal computer, lava lamp, balloons, and Googles 1998 logo visible on the screen of the plastic personal computer. The logo was to depict the humble beginning of Google.
Google’s logo which had an exclamation mark right after its name “Google!” was depicted on the PC in its birthday logo. This logo on the PC is some sort of throwback on what Google started out with but later modified in 1999. The initial Google logo had an exclamation mark which was later removed.
From the birthday logo, you could see the toy building blocks which held together the server.
Google has no fixed birthday as it celebrated its birthday on the 26th of September, 2014. However, Google has celebrated its birthday on the 27th of September since 2006. This seems to be Google’s recognized birthday date.
