How To Pray
Prayer is how Christians communicate with God. It is a practical approach for believers to say everything in our minds and hearts to God. Remember that contact between God and man happens via prayer. When we pray, we express gratitude to God, praise Him for what He has accomplished, ask Him to intervene on their behalf, and even confess our faults and shortcomings to Him. Whatever we are doing when we pray, prayer is a valid means to interact with God and allow Him to minister to our souls and spirits.
However, a praying believer does not emerge out of the blues. To become a praying Christian, one has to consciously yearn for an interactive relationship with God. Which then leads to learning how to pray. Learning how to pray is very necessary in your relationship with God. This is because you cannot experience who God is, without learning how to talk to Him and spend quality time in His presence.
A good prayer life culminates because of a formed connection with God. As we all know, relationships are fostered in times of communication. Hence, a good relationship with God is built on the altar of prayer

How to effectively pray
- Come as you are: You do not have to be perfect to talk to God. Just come as you are! You do not have to know all the flowery or verbose expressions either. Because He understands even the littlest content of your heart. No pretense, no hiding, just come as you are. Matthew 11:28 says:
Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Therefore, do not be afraid to unburden the content of your heart to God. He wants to hear it all.
- Develop intimacy with Him through His Word: You cannot successfully pray to a God you do not know. And one of the best ways to know God is through His word. In fact, prayer is more effective when you understand what God’s word says concerning what you are praying about. Also, God’s word helps us to develop a strong intimacy with Him. It takes us to another level of knowledge of Him, and it is only natural for us to be willing to talk to Him when we know Him.
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

You can only come boldly when you know God through his word.
- Pray daily: Practice makes perfect! You pray better when you pray daily. You can pray randomly and pray specially. You can say a word of prayer to God on your way to work or while cooking your favorite meal or while stretching on your bed. You can also create a special prayer time daily where you express yourself strongly without any distraction or doubt.
- Pray with expectations: Prayer is not a mere routine. It is a communication between you and your Father. So, expect answers each time you pray. The Bible affirms it in Hebrew 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

One way to diligently seek God is by seeking Him with expectations, and faith gives validity to our prayers.
