How To Start This Month On The Right Note

It feels a bit surreal that we are already in August. It seems like it was just yesterday that we had the New Year celebration. Time flies indeed! The reality is a bit scary. And as such, people’s reaction to the realization might differ. Most times, it suggests going back to the drawing board, taking note of how you had planned the year, and seeing how it is going. For some, the result of the exercise is a case of smiles and gratitude. This comes from knowing that most of the things they had set out to do in the year is accomplished. And for others, it is just a reminder that there more work to do, as it relates to meeting the year’s goals or dreams.
Whichever category you belong to, the good news is that your year can get better and more can be accomplished. It just requires a bit of work on your part. This “bit of work” suggests re-strategizing, discipline, hard work, and dedication.
Starting every month on a clean slate is an underemphasized strategy when it comes to making the most of your year, and in this case, the remaining part of your year. Basically, it entails taking productive and healthy measures to help you prepare for each month. Which in general, helps you achieve your desired goal or success for each month or year.
So, for today’s post, I will be sharing six tips I have used to get me all prepared for a new month. Thereby, making me effective and high yielding throughout a month.
They include:
- Budget for the month: Whether it is in food, transportation, or clothes, be sure to make a budget every month. This does not only help with your finances but aids a quick start at the beginning of every month, culminating in efficiency throughout the month.
- Pick out the month’s reads: As cliche as the infamous “readers are leaders” sounds, it is quite true. Picking out books to read at the onset of every month is one way to show a good habit cultivated. It also highlights discipline and orderliness on your part.
- Schedule your time: Ensure that all your appointments, dates, and dates are scheduled accordingly. This emphasizes a productive and organized lifestyle and portrays intentionality when it comes to how and where you spend your time. Hence, no room for time wasting.
- Declutter/clean: Any time one declutters wardrobes or cleans the house, there is a refreshing feeling that comes with it. Cleaning and decluttering not only keeps your belongings neat and tidy and gives you a renewed energy. It also creates a serene environment for your thought and work processes.
- Set your month’s goals: Setting monthly targets is a reliable method in achieving the year’s dreams or goals. It implies picking out a goal you want to achieve in a particular month, pooling resources that foster it, and eventually achieving the goal or dream in the specific month’s frame.
My last tip is Start now! If you are already intentional as it relates to ensuring that you always start your month on a clean slate, KUDOS. But, if you want to still achieve all you had set to achieve this year and you are yet to start, my advice is that you START NOW!!!
