Is Your Schedule Packed With Too Many Things?

Are your Schedules packed with too many things? If so, you need to modify your schedule. An overwhelmed or over-packed schedule is a plan that is too many for you to carry out within the periods they are slated for. When schedules get over-packed, there is the possibility of not doing all the things scheduled effectively.

An overwhelmed schedule doesn’t mean we will get more things done that day or that period. When we have more than enough things planned out to do for a day for instance; sometimes we don’t necessarily get those things done the right way. When we plan to do more than we can accommodate in a day, we are not being realistic about getting those things done.

We need time to relax and cool off from work, however, when we over-pack our schedules we sometimes get stressed out. When schedules aren’t planned well, there might need to review the schedules.

There are so many reasons why not having an over-packed schedule can be good, some of them are:

  1. It reduces the risk of getting stressed.
  2. We get more productive with those things we are focusing on.
  3. We have time for breaks.
  4. We get to have time to reflect on our work.

Sometimes I have a lot of things to do that it gets so overwhelming and tiring. When I look at my to-do list I get scared and think of how I am supposed to do all the things listed that day.

An overwhelmed schedule doesn’t always mean a productive schedule. When the things you have to do gets unrealistic or too much, it can negatively affect your productivity. If I list out 10 things on my to-do list that I know I can’t complete them in a day, I might be deceiving myself. Therefore, I need to understand that I have to plan with care.

And so, when I catch myself planning out so many things within so little time for me to accomplish, I remind myself that I should set my priorities right and do the things I ought to do now. Knowing this in mind, I look at my schedule and remove things that I don’t need to do now and put them during periods that are better for me to do them. However, this doesn’t mean I should procrastinate, it simply means I should prioritize.

For instance, if I want to make my hair, wash my clothes, clean my room, arrange my wardrobe, etc between the periods of 2 pm to 5 pm. I have to decide which is more important for me to do now and how many of those things I can do within those periods. I have to really be honest with myself and schedule well.

In addition, delegating is another thing concerning schedules. What are things you can give others to do? Do you have to do everything yourself? Are there people that are willing to help you with what you want to do? Etc.

And so, look at your schedule and see how you can sort out your schedule, prioritize well.
