THE CROSS AND THE POWER
The preaching of the cross to the world is foolishness, but to us, that believe it is the power of God (1cor 1; 18). I just came to the consciousness of what the death and resurrection of Christ truly mean. I came to the realization that I had been religious concerning this subject matter. This is a wake-up call that everything concerning your life has been finished on the cross.
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, it is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost (John 19: 30)
And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from top to bottom (Matthew 15: 37-38)
The Greek word for “it is finished” is tel-eh’-o which means to end, complete, execute, discharge a debt, make an end, expire, fill up, finish, go over, pay, perform. Christ came to put an end to all your struggles, to give an expiry date to that challenge and to bring you into close fellowship and intimacy with the Father.
“There is an expiry date attached to every challenge that you may be passing through, hold on!” |
Christ was under no obligation to die, in fact, he clearly stated that no one can take his life except he lays it down (John 10: 18). He saw the Glory ahead. There is a Glory ahead for you if you would just see the finished work of Christ. The blood that was shed on the cross of Calvary, brought you over from slavery, diseases, poverty, oppression, depression and anything contrary to Christ. You have full access to the throne of the Father through Jesus Christ, enough of condemnation!!!
[There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit (Romans 8: 1).
Remember there is power in the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Christ has finished everything concerning us, walk in this consciousness and live a triumphant life.
