The Waiting Season

The Waiting Season

At one point in time or another, some of us may have experienced the ‘waiting season’. That season that we don’t really know what to do, or how to act. That season that we hope would pass swiftly. That season that we feel a bit tired of trying and trying again and again.

We get so confused about what to think, say, or act. I have had some waiting seasons in my life. I have had times I had to wait before I could receive what I had been waiting for. However, I found out that one of the things that make a difference in your waiting season is how you act. Listening to a preaching of Joyce Meyer, I heard this resounding truth: [bctt tweet=”“Patience is not simply the ability to wait – it’s how we behave while we’re waiting.”” username=”shalomtruthsmag”]

What are you doing that is affecting your attitude during your waiting season? The waiting season may seem tough with lots of twists and turns here and there, but the truth is this; we learn a lot and grow during the waiting season.

The waiting season may weigh you down and you may wonder when you will get out of it. Here’s the thing, don’t get discouraged because God is there for you. Remember that God is always there for you and He knows best. He has the perfect timing.

And guess what, everything will happen at the right time. No matter what you may be experiencing; ensure that you are keeping the faith and waiting patiently. When you keep the faith and you patiently wait, you become better and you trust God more.

I once had to ‘wait’ to gain admission into the university. When I completed my SSCE some years ago, I had lots of high hopes that I was getting into the university immediately. Everything was ready, I had taken some of the required exams and bought some forms, and so far so good; everything looked good. I was going to go to the university immediately I finished my secondary school, I was excited! Until the main subject (Literature in English) I needed for my course of study wasn’t released that year! Without that subject, there was no way I could have been accepted into the University.

What happened? After all the preparations and excitement, I won’t be getting an admission into the University that year. So guess what, I had a year to wait. During the waiting season, one of the things I tried to do was to learn more and develop myself in different areas while I prepared for the university. The waiting got to me a bit, however, I made sure I made good use of some of my time and ‘prepared’ myself for the blessing I was expecting. (At least, I was able to learn some things that got useful for me, even though I didn’t finish learning them). So, what am I saying? When you experience a ‘waiting’ season, don’t get discouraged. Trust God and wait patiently and be expectant of the good things God is bringing your way.
