Three Inspiring Bible Verses To Revive Your Outlook For 2024

My favorite prayer quote describes prayer as, “exhaling the spirit of man and inhaling the spirit of God. It is my favorite because of how it encapsulates the whole essence of prayer in less than fifteen words. Also, this quote never fails to remind of the fact that, as a Christian, I cannot do without prayer. A bit skeptical of what I just said? Let us analyze together!
Prayer is exhaling the spirit of man and inhaling the spirit of God.
Edwin Keith
As we all know, breathing involves inhaling and exhaling. For example, humans exhale carbon dioxide and inhale oxygen. Now, when this biological exchange is interrupted, it means that a problem is looming somewhere. Similarly, a Christian without an active prayer life is an unhealthy Christian spiritually. Considering that when you become a Christian, you exchange your human spirit for God’s spirit. And when you do not engage in prayer to continually inhale His spirit, your spiritual life deteriorates.
As we start the new year, it is important that above everything else, we crave for this exchange of God’s spirit with ours. Bearing in mind that for the times we live in, it is only the connection to God’s spirit that can empower us to live triumphantly this year or make the year count. In essence, this year is the year where prayer must be the lifestyle. In all we do, we should ensure that we are constantly inhaling God’s spirit and exhaling ours.
Entered the year feeling lukewarm about prayer? Today’s post highlights three prayer verses to pray and revive your outlook for 2024:
- Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV
Prayer: Lord, in this year 2024, help me to trust and lean on you. Remove every pride in me that will not allow me to submit to you and your will.
- Ephesians 2:10
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2:10 NIV
Prayer: Lord, thank you for choosing me. Empower me to walk the path you have chosen for me, bringing glory and honor to your name.
- 2 Corinthians 5:9
So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.
2 Corinthians 5:9 NIV
Prayer: Lord, this year, in all I do and am, let me please you. Make it my earnest desire to put Your will above mine.
