Transform Your Year: Five Life Upgrades to Embrace In 2024
When I think of how I would love to end 2024, I think about growth in all areas of my life, attaining financial independence, experiencing the joy of the Lord in my heart, and all the many good things I hope to accomplish in the year. Now, I am sure that I am not the only person on this bandwagon of hoping for great things in 2024. From the motivational instagram and TikTok videos I see everywhere, it is evident that people are hoping that this year actually works out for them.
However, what will make this year as great as envisaged, is not a function of daydreaming about the end of 2024 or making artistic videos to buttress your dreams for 2024. While these videos can suffice for vision boards or help with accountability, they are never enough.
First of all, it is important to note that, this year will pan out as expected, only if you are in the center of God’s will. How? The Bible in Psalms 127:1 says that, “except the Lord builds the house, the builders build in vam.” This is to say that in all you do or hope to achieve this year, it is vital that you are in the center of God’s will. Because if you are not in the center of His will, your efforts are as good as futile.
Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat— for he grants sleep to those he loves.

Furthermore, your year can be great as a result of the practical steps you take. Strategies to ensure that you embrace every opportunity for personal growth and positive change. Simply put, this year can be a year of great opportunities and successes. It just involves putting the appropriate measures in place to ensure that this year is hugely centered on personal improvement and upgrade.
Hence, today’s post highlights five life upgrades worth embracing to optimize the year to its fullest:
- Spend time with God daily: As simple as this strategy is, it is actually the game changer for maximizing one’s year to the fullest. I know that with adulting comes unavailability of time, so it might be challenging to find the right time to be with God daily. However, you do not need the right time. Just be intentional about spending time with God and every other thing needed to get the best out of year will come into play.
- Have a supportive community: Nothing beats the love and support of a community. Whether it is family, friends, or church members, a supportive community will always have your back. Therefore, in all your “getting” this year, it is vital that you belong to a supportive community. Lean towards a loving/caring community/friends who will hold you accountable, support you, and hold you up in prayer when you are down. Try this and you will be amazed. You will realize that even when you do encounter trying times in 2024, it will not feel like it. Why? Because you are surrounded with amazing friends who always have your back.
- Dare to be a beginner: Accepting to start from scratch is both a brave and humbling experience. It shows that you are okay with not knowing a particular thing but willing to learn about it. Nevertheless, not everyone likes that route. Most people prefer to be experts and not amateurs. Well, you can never learn that way. Growth is also a function of beginnings. This year, dare to be a beginner. And you will experience immense success in the area of personal growth or upgrade.
- Spread kindness wherever you go: A lovely mantra for the year is to be a fountain of kindness and love. It shows that you are choosing light over darkness. Now, if you are familiar with your Bible, you would understand that light always wins. Choose light this year and keep winning.
- Be intentional about consistent and quality sleep: Rest, rest, rest. Note that rest or sleep does not translate to unproductivity. If anything, productivity is enhanced by quality rest. In 2024, be intentional about consistent and quantity rest and you will be grateful for the decision.
